Sunny and warm weather greeted players for today's Lone Ranger Scramble and it was great not to play in the rain!

Holm Cruises to PGA Title

RETIREES PGA CHAMPION 

Al Holm lead fro the first day of this year's Retirees PGA and even a sparkling final round by Jim Park wasn't enough to overtake the leader. The photo below shows Al with the 'giant' Wanabe Trophy.

LONE RANGER SCRAMBLE WRAPS UP MAY EVENTS

Eleven team will tee off tomorrow at 9AM for the Lone Ranger Scramble and Brunch in the final event for the month of May. Cool and wet sums up golfing for this month, but tomorrow's weather promises to be one of the best day's we have played in so far.

The forecast looks bad for tournament leader Al Holm — cloudy but no rain, however he has a Tiger-like lead and will still be tough to beat. Only your 2 best rounds are used for scoring.

Sign up deadline is May 30 and there are still spots open should you wish to play. Please remember that you must pay the entry fee when signing up in the Pro Shop - we have one person who signed up but did not pay the entry fee yet and they need to get that dealt with ASAP.

Al "I play best in a downpour" Holm leads after two rounds and will be hard to catch and second place right now is a dog fight with only a few points separating several players.

Next week is the final chance for everyone to try and make lots of net birdies and net eagles in order to try and catch our leader. "Take dead aim!"

We emailed a copy of  today's results sheet (2022 PGA - StablefordMonth-R1) for Round 1 of PGA Month. Heavy rain drove many from the course after 9 holes, so no results for those players show up in this list.

Leading after round 1 is Al "I love the rain" Holm who shot a sparkling net 64 in the downpour to score 72 points and a 10 point lead. Click the video to see what the round was like...

NOTE: The handicaps I used are for those who turned in a handicap before playing. No handicap turned in means you are scored as a scratch golfer with a zero handicap - suggest you get your updated handicap turned in (email it).

I will not do it for you.

STABLEFORD SCORING

We will be using Stableford scoring to determine the PGA winner this month using NET scores - Net Double bogey or worse=0pt, Net Bogey=1pt, Net Par=2pts, Net Birdie=6pts, Net Eagle=8pts, Net Double Eagle or better=16pts
