JULY WRAPS UP WITH RED-WHITE-BLUE SCRAMBLE ...and more

RED-WHITE-BLUE SCRAMBLE FINALLY GETS PLAYED It only took an extra month, but we finally played the RWB! TROSETH & NEWTON TIE FOR THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

 RETIREES BRITISH OPEN END IN A TIE John Newton shot a sparkling net 67 on the final day to tie Paul Troseth for the 'Champion Golfer of the Year' title, both with 139 totals. Paul had lead every round with 69-70 as his two best net scores while John had scores of 72-67. Don Szilagyi was alone in 2nd (142) and six players were tied for 3rd  David Panton, Ray St.Jean, Robin Valentine, Keith Wallis, Tom Gawryletz, and Al Holm (143). NEXT UP - FED EX CUP MONTH August is Fed Ex Cup month and the last of our month long competitions. Three rounds with your two best net scores counting toward the final score. No season long point this time — too much work! AUGUST IS DICE SCRAMBLE MONTH Skill rolling the custom made dice to determine which tee shot must be used, can make or break a team's chances in the Dice Scramble. TROSETH LEADS AFTER ROUND ONE

Paul Troseth has taken the lead in this year’s ’Open Championship’ after shooting a NET 69 on a day with perfect playing conditions. This is not something we have had to often this season, but maybe this is the start. Paul doesn’t like to get his photo taken, so here is a younger version of Paul beside Ian Woosman, world famous golfer….or maybe it’s Ian Glover. Ask Paul 

THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP MONTH STARTS THURSDAY

RETIREES BRITISH OPEN  Thursday is Round 1 of our month long British Open competition for the Retirees Club. Three rounds are scheduled with your lowest 2 net scores counting toward your total score. Last year's winner, Phil Molloy has been secretly working on his game in a hangar at the airport and should be ready by Thursday's first round. It looks like it will be a scorcher for the first round, so remember to keep hydrated as you play.
