1. All players must provide an updated course handicap when entering.

2. Players will be assigned a FLIGHT based upon their updated course handicap and play in groups from their flight.

3. Prizes will be awarded for:

    0verall Low Gross Champion and Overall Low Net Champion

    1st, 2nd, 3rd Low Net Score for each Flight

    Individtual KP(x4) & LP(x2)

4. A portion of each player's entry fee (meal cost) has been paid for by the Retirees Club.

SZILAGYI WINS FED EX CUP MONTH

 

Don Szilagyi (holding the Official FED EX CUP Trophy) was the runaway winner of the season long FED EX CUP points race. Don was one of a select group of players who scored points in every event and only missed out on bonus points for "Dress Like John Daly Day - can you blame him?

CHAPMAN 2 - BALL & LUNCH August 18, 2022

 Birchbank Retirees enjoyed a sunny, warm morning of golf followed by a delicious lunch of roasted potatoes, pasta and meatballs. This month's event was a Chapman 2-Ball - a mix of best ball and alternate shot format.

Sixteen two man teams competed with the team of Reg Cherenko and Sergio Peloso leading the way with a net 59 score.

Our British Open Month wrapped up with another tie for the Championship with Ron Mace and Robin Valentine both ending with a 138 total. 

While both players missed out on the big bucks that the pros get for winning The Open Championship, they did get their own British Tee Bag.

AUGUST IS FED-EX CUP MONTH

Our August competition is underway with players trying to win the FED EX Cup by shooting their lowest round of the year and gaining the maximum number of points. Each month's final scores were assigned a point total starting at 100 points for first place and going down from there. The single round low score will get 200 points and players also have the opportunity to score bonus points each week.

Forty Retirees Club golfers teed it up July 21 for the annual Dice Scramble. In this game, the team's choice of drive on each hole is determined by the roll of the custom made dice. Many a great tee shot was wasted by an unlucky roll forcing the team to take the shortest drive.

Thanks go out to Kelly and the Bistro staff for a great buffet meal and to Blair and the Proshop staff for their help.

If you are planning on attending and have not registered yet, don't miss the Monday July 25 Deadline! Your entry fee needs to be paid to the RETIREES CLUB in Canadian Funds - we pay the Colville club with one cheque.

 YESTERDAY'S ROUND 2 RESULTS 

With 2 rounds completed our current leader is Ron Mace who overcame not only the course setup but also the road construction delays on his way to the course from Nelson. Two net 69 rounds for a total of 138 gives Ron a 2 shot lead over Rob Valentine and Tom Gawryletz, both in at 140.

We have a few spots left in order to have all teams with 4 players, sign up online, eTransfer entry fee or on the sign up sheet on the bulletin board (leave a cheque with the Pro Shop) or pay John Lattanzio or Norm Moll OR EMAIL ME RIGHT NOW!

We ask that you pay the entry fee ASAP, don't wait until Thursday morning.

Check-in starts at 8:00 and once everyone is accounted for we can head out.
